In a struggling Tennessee town, Patty and Taylor spend their days trapping desperate customers in cycles of debt at a rundown payday loan store. Tired of profiting off their community while drowning in personal crises of their own, the two EZ Loans workers hatch a plan to rob the business that has exploited so many lives, including their own. But as the night of the heist spirals out of control, buried secrets and growing paranoia begin to fracture their partnership. What starts as an act of revenge against a corrupt system quickly becomes a tense battle over trust and how far desperation can push ordinary people. Set against the fading glow of strip malls and commercial decay, Pay Day is a grounded crime thriller about exploitation and the blurred  line between victim and perpetrator.
