ABOUT BOBBY YAN
Bobby Yan is an eight-time Emmy Award-winning director, writer and producer with credits spanning film, television and music. His work includes projects for Lifetime, BET+, TV One and Tubi. Yan is an alumnus of the ABC Disney Directing Program and Ryan Murphy’s HALF Initiative and holds a master’s degree in Visual Effects from NYU.

  • What is a director really looking for in an actor?

  • Go inside the director’s process with Bobby Yan for a hands-on master class exploring the journey from casting and callbacks to rehearsal and camera.

  • Using a scene from Yan’s upcoming feature film, participants will make performance choices, compare them with the director’s notes and learn how stronger communication can lead to stronger on-camera work.
