When Cole goes off to college and leaves his severely autistic brother (Bobby) and single mother (Felicia) behind, he entrusts his best friend Brick to keep an eye on them.  However, as Brick becomes more and more engulfed in street life the two friends start to grow apart, and Brick gets involved with selling drugs.  One night after enjoying Felicia's (Cole's mom) home cooking, he gives her some pain relievers after complaining about back pain.  Little did he know that shortly after Felicia would die, leaving a helpless and devastated Bobby trying to revive her.  Cole then has to return home to take care of Bobby and uncover the unknown surrounding his mother's death.  When Cole discovers that Brick gave her Fentanyl, a dangerous turn of events take place, plunging Bobby, Brick and Cole into a brand new reality of death and violence.
