The 2020 festival will screen 40-plus independent screenings such as “First Forgotten Champions” (Morecco Coleman, Memphis TN), #Where is Beauty? (Angela McCrae, Los Angeles CA) and Six Pack (Rita Usher, Los Angeles, CA) as well as special conversations, and panels with local, national and international directors, producers and industry experts.  

The panels, the red carpet and the energy around Black film are three things that come to mind when it comes to the International Black Film Festival. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, you had to wonder how Hazel Joyner-Smith and her staff were going to pull this off.

Working with mama and contributing to the culture is always a joy in the African-American community. Founded on these principles, The International Black Film Festival, (IBFF)  is still going strong 15 years later! This year’s festival was held Sept. 30- Oct. 4th.
